Squared Away Boat Check – Privacy Policy

Squared Away Boat Check ("the app") is made by Hartshorne Marine, a business of Lucky Kat Pty Ltd, Queensland, Australia ("we", "us").

Summary

The app works offline. We do not collect, receive, store or sell any of your personal information. Everything you enter or photograph stays on your device.

Information the app uses on your device

  • Vessel and checklist details, logs and reports you enter.
  • Crew and owner details you choose to enter (for example names and contact details).
  • Photos you take with the camera, for example of safety gear tags.
  • Your location, used for Anchor Watch and to add a position to photos and log entries. Location is processed on your device only and is never sent to us.

This information is stored only on your device. It is not sent to Hartshorne Marine or to any third party. The app has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.

Sharing

Information leaves your device only when you choose to share it, for example by exporting a vessel file or sharing a PDF report through your phone's share sheet. You control who receives it.

Purchases

In-app purchases are processed by Google Play (or the Apple App Store on iPhone). We do not receive your payment details. The app asks the store which purchases your account owns so it can unlock paid features. See Google's privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Permissions

  • Camera: to photograph equipment and labels.
  • Location: for Anchor Watch and to record where photos and log entries were made. You can refuse or remove these permissions in your phone settings; the related features will then not work.

Keeping and deleting your information

Your information stays on your device until you delete it in the app, clear the app's data or uninstall the app. We cannot recover it for you, because we never have a copy.

Children

The app is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy. The current version will always be at this page.
