Know your boat's safety gear is right before you leave the dock.

Before every delivery I walk the boat: flares, EPIRB, lifejackets, liferaft, extinguishers, the lot. I count what's on board, check it against what the rules ask for where we're headed, and check every date. Squared Away Boat Check puts that walkaround on your phone.

What it does

  • Knows the legal minimum. Checks each safety item against the legal minimum for your state or territory and your waters, with a link to where the rule comes from. Covers Australian states and territories, New Zealand, the UK and the US, and flags any rule that still needs confirming.

  • Snap the tag. Photograph a service tag, label or gauge and the app reads the dates and serial numbers, right there on your phone.

  • Spots the problems. Shortfalls show in red, anything due in the next 30 days in amber, and every expiry date sits in one list.

  • Quick check or the full walkaround. A quick pre-departure check, or the full walkaround with over 200 checks for sail and power.

  • A report you can hand over. A dated PDF report with photos and signatures, plus Australian Sailing Special Regulations categories with an audit-style report.
