At Hartshorne Marine, I offer clear and fair pricing for professional yacht, motor yacht, and commercial vessel deliveries.

Based in Bundaberg, Queensland, with over 35 years of experience and 300,000 nautical miles worldwide, I prioritise safety, vessel care, and realistic schedules tailored to your boat’s capabilities.

H2: Transparent Daily Rate Structure

Skipper Fee: $600 AUD per day (exclusive of GST)

This rate applies to myself as the lead skipper.

How the Number of Days Is Calculated Days are determined by the actual passage requirements and your vessel’s real-world capabilities, including:

  • Route distance (nautical miles)

  • Vessel type (sail or power)

  • Typical cruising speed and performance

  • Safe daily progress, weather windows, and watchkeeping needs

For example, a 600 NM coastal leg on a typical 12–15m sailing yacht often estimates 4-5 days, allowing for conservative pacing and safety.

The rate also covers:

  • Passage days

  • Necessary pre-delivery inspection or preparation time

  • Travel days to the departure port and return from the arrival port (full or half rate by agreement)

  • Lead skipper services with full commercial and yachting qualifications.

  • Professional passage planning and regular owner updates.

  • Arrangements for additional qualified crew (usually 1–2 extra for safe rotations on multi-day coastal deliveries). Crew rates can be quoted separately or included upon request (typically $200–$350 per person per day).

All actual costs are additional and fully transparent with receipts provided:

  • Travel (flights, ground transfers for skipper and crew)

  • Provisions and meals ($45–$60 per person per day)

  • Fuel consumed during the delivery

  • Marina, dockage, and port fees

  • Essential repairs or maintenance required for seaworthiness

  • Final days reflect reality — not a rushed fixed estimate. This structure ensures decisions always prioritise safety over speed.

  • Price may change due to maintenance requirements, vessel condition issues, or unforeseen events such as weather delays or mechanical matters. Additional time is billed at the daily rate.

  • A detailed initial estimate with expected days and total cost range will be provided after reviewing your yacht details.

  • A “Not-to-Exceed” (NTE) option is available for predictability (excluding owner-caused delays or pre-existing faults).

All prices are exclusive of GST. Payment terms: 30–50% deposit on acceptance, with the balance due on successful completion and handover.
