Capt. Garry A. Hartshorne

Garry is a commercial skipper based out of Bundaberg operating a professional yacht, motor yacht and commercial vessel delivery service and yacht management services. In addition to his professional services Garry also is available as a fully qualified sailing and motor yacht instructor.

Garry first started on boats as an 8 year old living aboard with his parents on their 37ft sailboat based out of Cairns, North Queensland. His entire childhood was learning all there is to know about boats and sailing while exploring the south pacific islands and later as a teenager circumnavigating the globe. After a career in the Navy, Garry returned to Cairns to help with the family business at the sail loft. While in Cairns he earned his skippers ticket and began to work on dive boats out on the Great Barrier Reef. For the last 30 years, Garry has predominately worked in the private yachting industry on 80ft-150ft motor yachts in Europe, the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean. He is an exceptional project manager with a keen eye for detail required for the maintenance and operation of large luxury vessels. Whilst in Australia, Garry has worked for Stradbroke Ferries and other Commercial boats running passenger and vehicle vessels up to186ft.
